Deputies: Drugs found on man who died in rollover crash

Posted: Updated:

A 26-year-old Winter Haven man was killed Wednesday night in a rollover crash on Highway 17.

It happened just south of Old Bowling Green Road in Fort Meade, and the sheriff's office said Joshua Nye MacNicol's Honda was the only car involved.

Crash investigators say it appears MacNicol swerved off the shoulder and then overcorrected, rolling his green, two-door Honda.

He was thrown from the vehicle, which continued rolling into the median.

Deputies say he died at the scene, and he was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash.

The sheriff's office said they found marijuana and Percocet medication on MacNicol.

The accident happened around 7 p.m.
