Ybor City was turned green Saturday night.
Historic 7th Avenue became a canyon of celebration, as thousands came out to watch.
Ninety floats made their way between rows of people decked out in green.
We spoke to people who say the parade was a chance for them to forget about all the stressful news lately.
Things like the plane crash, the Ukrainian crisis and the economy were suddenly in the backs of their minds.
"Being here, it's a release," said Louis Rosario, of Tampa. "That weighs on the back of your mind at all times. It's a relief to get away from those issues in life sometimes."
"I just like watching the people, and you just don't think about what's going on around, outside of here," said Diane Gosa of Spring Hill.
This was the 19th Ybor City St. Patricks Day parade put on by the Tampa Rough Riders.
