One person was killed and another was injured when a truck in Hernando County ran a stop sign, hit several trees and flipped over.
The Florida Highway Patrol said both people inside – 41-year-old Tammy Evans and 32-year-old Ronnie Brooks – were thrown from the vehicle.
It happened around 10 p.m. on Shoal Line Boulevard.
Evans was driving and died at the scene, troopers said. Amazingly, Brooks only suffered minor injuries.
It's unclear what caused Evans to run the stop sign and hit the trees. FHP officials are continuing their investigation.
