There is a different feeling in the air around Juanita Mitchelle's neighborhood.
"I just heard a girl screaming. That is when I heard that her nephew was dead in the house," she said.
Lakeland police got the call from 19-year-old Gregory Ross's aunt.
After going to check on her nephew she found him dead from gunshot wound in the 800 block of N. Florence Avenue.
He is the second teenager to be murdered in two weeks in northwest Lakeland.
"We just want to know where they're getting the guns from and how they're gonna stop this about these children killing each other," said Mitchelle.
While the police aren't sure if this is a gang related shooting, they call it an area plagued by gang activity.
"We've got to come together we have got to focus on the crime we've got to start working on this to reduce the amount of crimes in the city like this," said Assistant Chief Mike Link.
The body of 17 year old Damarco Powell was found along railroad tracks off Atline Road on February 22nd.
He was killed by a single gunshot wound to the back of the head. Witnesses say Powell was wearing a gun on a rope around his neck the night he was killed.
16-year old Tyler Knight was arrested and charged with the first degree murder of Powell.
Police said he was a participant and a victim of gang violence.
"It does drive us that much harder. I'll be out this week and I can guarantee that I will be talking to this community, the pastors, Northwest district community leaders and asking for their help," said Assistant Chief Link.
Assistant Chief Link calls community support the key to stopping and solving the violence.
"They do they have influence of getting people out they can remain anonymous alli need is a little bit of information," he said.
To make sure another life is not lost.
"It really pulls at you're heart strings it really does and it encourages us that much more to get out here and fight that much harder to investigate these cases and work with the community," he said.
