Legoland Florida is honoring its roots by reviving two crowd-pleasers from the old Cypress Gardens days.
On Wednesday, the park held a ribbon-cutting to celebrate the re-opening of the Florida Pool -- made famous by the Esther Williams movie 'Easy to Love' -- along with the Oriental Gardens. Both are considered icons.
"We shouldn't forget the past," said Adrian Jones, general manager of Legoland Florida. "We shouldn't forget what put Cypress Gardens on the map and what put leisure and tourism on the map in Florida."
Cypress Gardens was the state's first park of its kind. Bob Gernert, a well-known Cypress Gardens historian, spoke at the morning ceremony.
"I think the thing about this for me is that it makes this park whole again," he said.
The attractions have been closed since Legoland Florida opened two years ago.
