TAMPA (FOX 13) -

An early morning explosion broke some glass and created a HAZMAT scare on the USF campus.

The blast happened around 2:30 a.m. in a lab at the Research & Innovation Building. It blew the door off a refrigerator and shattered some glass.

Firefighters responded with a HAZMAT crew, to make sure there were no dangerous chemicals involved. They aired out the lab as a precaution.

No one was hurt.

The building will remain closed for the day.
