There were some tough goodbyes Tuesday morning at Tampa International Airport. The Florida Air National Guard 290th Joint Communications Support Squadron from MacDill was shipping out to Afghanistan.
They'll be there for the next six months, which meant a morning of mixed emotions for many.
"It's bittersweet. I'm very excited. I know I'm going to miss home but I'm excited to be going," Senior Airman Chelsea Meyer offered, over the shouts of "we'll miss you" from her young niece. "There's a lot of work to be done."
