They can't catch a break up north. Another round of winter weather swept through the Midwest over the weekend. It left snow, sleet, and ice as far south as Dallas, where schools are closed today.
Now, that storm is moving into the Northeast. Washington, D.C. already has a snow day. The federal government has shut down. Both the House and the Senate have canceled votes scheduled for today.
Meanwhile, thousands of flights have been canceled as airlines deal with this wintry mix. And it's being felt at Tampa International Airport as well. There are delays and cancellations all over the map. So far there are over 2,000 cancellations nationwide and at least 10 flights were canceled in Tampa this morning.
American Airlines has been hit the hardest, because their busiest hub is in Dallas. But Southwest, Jetblue, U.S. Airways, and Delta are also affected.
