This seven year old girl is almost ready to come home after being diagnosed with H1N1 and pneumonia on family trip.
These pictures show how Jaylea Hiem looked before she went on a road trip to from her home in Philadelphia to Orlando Disney.
But a week ago Jaylea was in the hospital with a high fever and struggling to breath.
"Jason stops and says, 'let's get out for breakfast' and Jaylea just laid there and said I don't feel good. I don't want any breakfast," said Jaylea's mother, Leah Heim.
That was the first sign that Jaylea was sick. Then a couple days later Jaylea's fever spiked.
"Her fever was 104.9. We were thankful for the fever, because that was the thing that told us we had to get her to the hospital," recalls Jaylea's Dad, Jason Heim.
They took Jaylea to Florida Hospital For Children and doctors quickly diagnosed the little girl with H1N1 and Pneumonia.
"She was panting like a dog and her heart," said Leah Heim. "You could see her jugular, just her heart beating really fast."
This went on for days until the doctors operated to clear out the fluid in and around Jaylea's lungs.
On March 4th Jaylea started to make some progress. The doctors were able to remove the ventilator and drainage tube and now the little girl can sit up on her own!
Now all the tubes have been removed and Jaylea can walk down the hall with some assistance. She is still a little weak but the family hopes she will be released from the hospital soon.
Jaylea did not get the flu shot, nor did her family, who are now on antibiotics.
Wednesday will be less humid but it remains warm all week long.
