Police in Tampa are investigating a shooting at a park that left two people injured.
It was just after 1:30 p.m. when a confrontation at a park pavilion near East 21st Avenue and 33rd Street led to shots being fired, according to police.
"The victims were playing cards with friends when at least one suspect pulled up in a vehicle and confronted the victims," police spokeswoman Laura McElroy explained. "Shots were fired and two victims were hit."
One victim ran across the street to his home after suffering a superficial wound to his head.
The second victim was more seriously injured. He ran west and collapsed in a parking lot, then was hospitalized in serious condition.
Police are looking for a late 2000 model silver Nissan that took off after the shooting. They did not offer any more detailed information, but said the shooting was not random.
"There is no indication that there is a threat to the neighborhood," McElroy added.
