PHOENIX -

A 36-year-old man was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman while her boyfriend was sleeping in the same bed in their home near Glendale and 35th Avenue in January.

Phoenix police say a woman woke up to Conrado Lopez-Moreno sexually assaulting her in her bedroom early in the morning on Jan. 5. He was allegedly armed with a knife.

The woman's boyfriend was sleeping next to her, woke up and reportedly had to physically pull Lopez-Moreno off of her.

They began to struggle, but Lopez-Moreno ultimately broke free and fled.

Officers searched the area and found several items from the home in an alleyway.

Using evidence at the scene, police say they were able to identify Lopez-Moreno as a suspect.

According to police, he is known as a local transient.

Lopez-Moreno was found and arrested on Sunday after police say he admitted to the crimes.

He faces charges of aggravated assault, sexual assault and first degree burglary.
