Students were allowed to return back to classes at Lake Mary High School around 1:30 p.m. Friday afternoon after the school was evacuated, because of reports of shots fired on or near the campus.
The Seminole County Sheriff's Office says at 12:16 p.m. Friday, they received a 911 call of a possible shooting at Lake Mary High School.
"They,all the sudden over the announcement, said 'Code Red! Code Red!' All the teachersstarted, immediately getting everybody out," said NathanBunch. "We all ran to the gym."
Deputies quickly responded and evacuated the school as a precaution.
"It was scary!" said Trevor Godwin. "We didn't know what was going on so, but it'sOK now. We're all right."
Seminole County School Board said the school issued a Code Red, which is the highest level of alert the district has.
Hundreds of students exited the building with their hands on their heads. More than a dozen law enforcement officers were on scene and deputies entered the school with guns drawn.
Parents of students rushed to the scene, with cellphones to their ears, tryingto find out anything they could.
Seminole County Deputies say they investigated the campus and found no evidence of a shooting or shooter.
