Detectives say Germaine Small, known as "Bolt" on the street, did just that -- bolted after attacking a couple at gunpoint. They say the 17-year-old smacked the woman in the face with the butt of the gun, knocking out several of her teeth. Then, they say, he and a buddy stole their bikes and everything else from the couple.

"It's just not right. It's just a lot of crime going on on this trail," complained Monique Lee.

Lee and her husband say they know several people who've been attacked over the years, including one his co-workers.

"He asked him for a cigarette. So he said he got off the bicycle, he was like 'yeah.' When he went into his pocket, the guy pulled a gun on him. So he took off. He was brave enough to leave. The guy didn't shoot him but he let him have the bike and everything," recalled Lorenzo Barney.

Lee says another friend was robbed and harassed.

"Made him take off all his clothes and his shoes and I think they threw coffee in his face after they did that and left him walking with just his boxers on. Yeah. This is a dangerous, dangerous trail," Lee continued.

"I ride it after a ball game or if I see a movie in the evening. I ride the bike back with the light. But it does feel a little creepy because it's dark around corners and stuff like that," offered Stephen Duffy.

The latest attack happened three weeks ago, along 18th Avenue S and 45th Street. Police say Small's been hiding ever since.

If you know anything about it, St. Pete police want to hear from you.
