Ernest Smith pleaded guilty to three counts of DUI Manslaughter.
Back in February of 2011, Smith slammed into a car killing all three passengers.
It happened at the intersection of Chelsea and 34th street in Tampa.
Walter Charles Givens, his wife Dione, and their friend Helen Cummings all died at the scene.
During sentencing Monday, grieving family members, including Givens' daughter Cecelia Givens Degree, had a chance to confront the defendant.
"We have lost my father, my step mother and their friend. Your mom is losing you, so it's not a win for no one," said Degree.
The defendant's mother also spoke.
Benita McConico was very emotional as she apologized to the victim's family sitting in the gallery.
Smith was sentenced to 15 years in prison and 15 years probation.
