Dontae Morris was backin a Tampa courtroom Monday, and his defense team lost yet another battle.
Morris was found guiltylast November of killing two Tampa police officers. A jury unanimously recommendedthe death penalty.
The official sentencingis next month, with the judge ruling today that family members of the officers can speak at that sentencing.
The defense had argued familyimpact statements would only inflame the passions of the jury.
But prosecutors arguedthe family members have a constitutional right to speak, and the judge agreed.
Officers Dave Curtisand Jeffrey Kocab were shot and killed in the summer of 2010. Morris'sentencing is March 13.
