7 Year Old Stranded Outside For 14hrs With His Dog

Posted: Updated:

A Tennessee boy is found after more than fourteen hours stranded alone in the cold.

Dominic Jeffreys, 7, was taking his dog for a walk in Wednesday night in Memphis and never returned home.

His family, along with neighbors and police, began franticly searching for the boy.

Jeffreys says his dog, Coco, pulled him behind a brushy wood retainer and he could not climb out.

He eventually let his dog off the leash and fell asleep.

"She was sitting down on me like this.  When she had got sleep she was sitting down," Jeffreys remembers.

He was freezing cold but he took his jacket off to keep Coco warm.

His legal guardian, Robbyne Manning is amazed Jeffreys was able to survive that long.

"I don't know where this kid gets his survival skills from but it's just amazing," says Manning.

The boy was found by a police officer stuck in the bushes around the corner from his home.

Jeffreys remembers hearing people call his name but he was afraid to come out.

"I thought I was in trouble," recalls Jeffreys

"That's just the worst 14 and a half hours of my life, I wouldn't want anyone to experience anything like that," Manning declares.
