An argument in a computer lab ended with a stabbing inside the Selby Library this morning.
A trail of blood led from beneath the two-story rotunda inside the library, out the front door, and into the driveway of the public library.
Investigators believe Andrew Timshin, 27, stabbed Marcus Colbert, 26.
Joe Rose, a library patron, witnessed what he thought was a shoving match near the second-floor computer printers, before realizing it was more serious.
Rose said the victim stumbled to the elevator and made his way back to the ground floor, while the other man simply returned to the computer he had been working at.
Colbert was taken to the 10th Street boat ramp about a half-mile away, then flown to Blake Medical Center in stable condition with wounds to his shoulder and neck.
Police took Timshin into custody.
Investigators were seen carrying two large backpacks from the library. Witnesses speculated that the backpacks belonged to the two men.
The public library is across the street from Five Points Park, which is a known gathering place for the homeless. A homeless man who spoke to FOX 13 says there were a number of homeless people in the library at the time.
The library remains open.
