CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A Chicago man charged with residential burglaries in the Lincoln Park neighborhood on the North Side was ordered held on a $90,000 bond Wednesday.

Arthur Nielsen, 34, faces three felony counts of residential burglary after police caught him Wednesday exiting an apartment building in the 2200 block of North Geneva Terrace, police said. He was already on parole for burglary.

Police, suspecting that a known burglar was operating in that area, set up surveillance and watched Nielsen, of the 9100 block of South Perry Avenue, enter the three-flat about 2 p.m. Wednesday, police said.

Officers learned he broke into two of the residences while inside the building and, when he came out a short time later, took him into custody without incident, police said. He was in possession of stolen items when he was arrested.

Nielsen was ordered held on $90,000 bond at a hearing Thursday, Cook County State's Attorney's office spokesman Stephen Campbell said. He will next appear in court Feb. 19.
