Rays pitchers are reporting to Tropicana Field well ahead of schedule. Pitchers and catchers officially check in to Port Charlotte Friday, February 14th.
A small group of pitchers stretched and ran through a light workout and long tossing Wednesday morning.
With added payroll this season, Rays players insist they do not feel added pressure.
"I think that there's always been a quality team put on the field here," says pitcher Matt Moore. "I think that this year, bringing David back is just going to be a big moment. Without getting too much into the business side of things, obviously, going to be going forward definitely the best team that I've ever been a part of."
Rays pitchers focus more on the reunion right now than on the expectations. They're just glad to be back together hanging out, having fun.
Actually in warm-ups, guys were tossing around a football instead of a baseball. If staying loose, embracing and enjoying the process is what the "Ray Way" is all about, pitchers are already ahead of schedule.
