People in the Citrus Park area are being warned to closely watch their pets.
In the past two months, two raccoons in the area have tested positive for rabies. The cases have been in the area between Gunn Highway and the Veterans Expressway to the northeast, and between Gardner Road and Sheldon to the southwest.
Veterinarians say a change in behavior is the most common sign that your pet might have rabies.
People in the Citrus Park area reminded to keep pet vaccinations up to date and not leave food outside that would attract stray animals.
