Best Buy employees foil video game theft attempt

Posted: Updated:

Police are looking for a man who was caught on camera trying to steal video games from a Best Buy in Clearwater.

It happened Monday night around 9 at 21415 U.S. 19 North, but employees at the store were able to botch his attempt.

The man, who has not been identified, is seen shoving Xbox and PlayStation 3 video games into a black camera case. Surveillance video caught clear images of him.

He looks to be in his middle 20s. He was wearing a T-shirt with a picture of President Obama on it, and the words "Dope," rather than "Hope."

As the man made his escape from the store, police say he clashed with several employees. One worker even possibly broke their finger in the confrontation.

If you recognize him, call (727) 562-4242.
