A fire tore through a Pasco County home on Monday morning, killing two young women.
The women have been identified as Jessica Keith and Amber Jordan, both 24-years old.
The fire broke out at their home at the Hudson Springs Mobile Home Park in the 14000 block of Pine Street around 7 a.m. Monday. Neighbors told us there was a frantic rescue to try to save them.
Frank Beckwith said he woke up to his children screaming that the women down the street needed help.
"The whole house was just totally up in flames, 10-foot higher than the building itself. To hear people yelling and screaming, it's just a nightmare," Beckwith said.
Another neighbor, who didn't want to be identified, risked his own life to try and help the women.
"Adrenaline was going, and I just was worried for the girls," he said.
The neighbor ran up the stairs of the home, which was engulfed in flames and smoke, and tried to pull one of the women to safety.
"I grab her and start pulling on her to get her out of there, but she's in flames," he said.
The man's fingertips and hands were badly blistered, as he tried to get the woman to safety. He said she was unconscious as he tried to help.
"I just saw her laying out in the doorway and I wanted to pull her to safety because that's the first one I could get to. I didn't see nobody else. I called in, to see if there was anyone else, and no one was answering," he said.
The help came too late. Both women were pronounced dead.
It's unclear what started the fire. Firefighters and forensic crews with the Pasco County Sheriff's Office were in and out of the home all day. They also paid particular attention to vehicle track marks in the front drive.
Investigators won't release whether they consider the fire suspicious.
Neighbors say Jessica Keith and Amber Jordan moved into the home a few weeks ago.
