Classroom time turned into a UFC-style brawl for some Gibbs High School students on Tuesday.
The video, shot by a student, shows two girls fighting inside a classroom, while other kids egg them on.
The teacher tried to intervene, but after a while, she's overwhelmed.
The video wound up on social media and quickly went viral.
"A lot of individuals could've been leaders rather than followers," said Rene Flowers with the Pinellas County School Board.
Flowers was appalled by what she saw.
"We expect for children to come to school ready to learn, not to engage in situations that disrupts the classroom and entire school," said Flowers.
A district spokesperson told FOX 13 the matter is being investigated and punishment is coming.
It could include suspension, expulsion or re-assignment.
The student who shot the video could also face consequences.
Flowers praised the teacher for doing what she could.
"You can see in the video the teacher was trying to take control and I applaud her for her efforts," said Flowers.
Officials said despite the fight video, Gibbs has made significant strides.
This year the state rated the school a B. It was a C grade last year.
The number of school arrests is down from 23 at this point last year to 13.
"This is some of the poorest examples of student behavior specifically African American and I hope it doesn't feed those who make stereotype of the behavior of our children," said Rev. Dr. Manuel Sykes, with the NAACP St. Petersburg branch.
