The arts and crafts chain Michaels is the latest store looking into a possible security breach.
A spokesperson for the store says the company is working with the Secret Service and outside data experts. They're investigating possible threats to private customer information.
A Michaels executive indicated they haven't confirmed that their systems have been compromised. However, customers should be aware of any unauthorized activity on their credit card or bank statements.
There are 1,135 Michaels stores operating in the United States and Canada, including several here in the Bay area.
