A Winter Haven man is behind bars, facing a long list of charges after allegedly attacking his former girlfriend, her adult children and her elderly mother.
Police say the attack happened around 11 Saturday night at a home in the northeast area of Winter Haven.
Investigators say a neighbor heard screaming and called 911, and when officers arrived, they found Anthony B. Hall in his ex-girlfriend's home armed with a large kitchen knife.
Police say Hall broke into the home while the victim and her adult son were sleeping, attacking the 46-year-old woman in her bed and beating her face with a beer can.
Investigators say the victim's 23-year-old son woke up to his mother screaming for help and tried to save her.
Police say Hall punched the boy repeatedly, smashing his fist into his face and torso.
The victim's 70-year-old mother, 24-year-old daughter and 25-year-old son, who live next door, heard the disturbance and came to help.
Police say Hall attacked the elderly mother and assaulted her granddaughter when she stepped in to help.
Investigators say the family pushed Hall out of the front door, and he fell and hit his head on a porch rail. Police say Hall then grabbed a kitchen knife and threatened to kill them.
The family ran for their lives, hiding in locked bedrooms and bathrooms.
Investigators say Hall then went on a rampage and punched holes in the bathroom door, where the elderly woman was hiding.
Police arrested Hall and charged him with several charges. Investigators say none of the victims were badly hurt.
