Deputies are actively searching for a Dodge pickup truck after a Dover hit-and-run crash left a woman fighting for her life.
It happened at 14603 Sydney Road and left a 40-year-old woman seriously injured, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said.
Stacey Parkerson was hit and left on the side of the road around 11:23 a.m., deputies said. She was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Deputies say the pickup was traveling eastbound and was occupied by a driver and passenger. After striking Parkerson, the truck slowed down and then sped up, fleeing eastbound on Sydney Road.
Deputies found the truck's grille nearby. They believe it came from a 1994 to 2002 Dodge crew cab pickup truck that would now have front-end damage. The truck is believed to be silver or grey in color.
Anyone with any information regarding this investigation is asked to call the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office at 813-247-8200.
