Teen hit, pinned under car near Seminole High School

SEMINOLE (FOX 13) -

A girl was hit by car near Seminole High School in Pinellas County Thursday.

Here is what happened, according to a media release from the Florida Highway Patrol:

Leah Martin, 12, was attempting to cross the road near the 800 block of 131st Street North.

She walked on to the road and into the path of an oncoming SUV.

The SUV hit Martin and came to rest with Martin pinned under the car.

She was taken to Bayfront Medical Center in critical condition.

Charges are pending against the driver of the SUV, 37-year-old Lyght L. Hussey.
