TAMPA (FOX 13) -

Tampa Bay Buccaneers' defensive lineman Akeem Spence is free on bond after being arrested on misdemeanor drug charges in Alabama.

Alabama State Police stopped Spence for speeding on Tuesday. The report says he was going 100 mph in a 65 mph zone. Investigators say they also found marijuana and drug paraphernalia in his car.

The Bucs' new head coach Lovie Smith said he's still waiting to get more information about Spence's arrest.

He released a brief statement that says: "I have spoken with Akeem and expressed my dissatisfaction with his involvement in this situation. As a member of the Buccaneers, he will be held to the high standards we have set for all members of this organization."
