TAMPA (FOX 13) -

"I would like to say first of all, I'm super excited about being in Florida, it's my most favorite state in America," said Priyanka Chopra, as she took center stage at an International Indian Film Academy Awards press conference in Tampa today.

Priyanka and Anil Kapoor are Bollywood A-listers, but they love the down-to earth welcome they got in Tampa.

Hillsborough County Commissioner Al Higginbotham said, "And for an old country boy from Plant City, I want to say, 'Namaste, Y'all!,"

The crowd cheered and the actors laughed hysterically.

The press conference featured dazzling videos showing off the International Indian Film Academy Awards in big cities like Singapore and London. It's the first time the award ceremony will be held in the United States. Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn said it's the city's biggest event since the Republican National Convention.

"If you ask me, 'What would be more fun, to hang out with Mitt Romney or Chris Christie, or Priyanka?'" he joked, as the crowd laughed, "I'm just sayin'."

You'll see Priyanka performing on the IIFA stage in Tampa on April 26th at Raymond James Stadium.

"I love the live audience and I love the live energy," she said.

There will be about twenty events leading up to the big show, which will attract more than 30,000 visitors. It will be televised to about 800 million viewers around the world. They can't seem to get enough of the Bollywood glamour.

"That's what our life is. Everything's over the top, we laugh, we cry, we smile, we laugh, we dance and that's what we Indians are and that's what Indian films are all about," said Anil Kapoor.

"You spent so much time in Miami doing Dostana and you love Miami, you love Pitbull, how can Tampa compete with that?" asked Fox 13 reporter Hetal Gandhi.

Priyanka Chopra responded, "Tampa is competing with the world right now because they've won the bid for the IIFA celebrations."

Priyanka said she hopes to get some beach time in during her stay in Florida and maybe even go deep-sea fishing.

In case you were wondering, guys, yes, she's still single. It's something she had to confirm when she was accidentally called Priyanka Kapoor instead of Priyanka Chopra during the press conference.

"There's no Kapoor coming into my life please," she exclaimed.

She went on to say she does hope to get a ring on her finger whenever Mr. Right comes along.

As for Anil Kapoor, he's looking forward to the next season of 24 while Priyanka continues to take her acting, singing and fashion career around the world.

When asked what she's not good at, she responded, "I haven't found out yet and I don't want to. If I'm not good at something, I don't do it."

Tampa is making that same vow, as they take on IIFA 2014.
