APOPKA (FOX 13) -

An Orange County woman is accused of an awful crime.

Apopka police say high school teacher Rhonda Miller neglected and starved her mother.

Miller faced a judge on Sunday afternoon.

Police say Miller left her 83-year-old mother in a room filled with cat urine and feces.

The room was infested with flees, and the woman had bites all over her legs.

According to the report, Miller hadn't fed her mother in days.

Miller is charged with elderly neglect.

A spokesperson for the Orange County school district says Miller is an Exceptional Student Education teacher at Apopka High School.

The school district spokesperson says she will not be allowed on campus on Monday.
