Authorities say it wasn't like her. Roberta Rene Cable always checked in with her family around the holidays. The 41-year-old had just landed a new job, and a new opportunity outside her Owen Drive home.
"She was looking forward to going. People were saying she was happy about going. She was excited about starting her new job," Pinellas County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Cristen Rensel said.
Investigators say she never showed up. Christmas Day passed. New Year's Day followed without a phone call from the 41-year-old woman, and relatives reported her missing. She hasn't been seen or heard from in nearly a month.
Detectives are calling her disappearance "suspicious."
"We got a card from a detective stating there was an investigation going on," Neighbor Paul Shull said.
Most neighbors told FOX 13 News they knew little to nothing about the missing woman.
Debbie Perry moved to the neighborhood two years ago.
"Definitely surprised to see all the cars and the sheriff's, cause I had no idea," said Perry. "Hopefully, they do find her just for the sake of her family. I'm sure that they're very worried about her."
Authorities say Cable is known to friends and family as "Rene." She is described as 5 feet tall, 115 pounds, with hazel eyes and blonde hair. Investigators say she went missing after leaving her home at 1700 Owen Drive on December 14th. She was last seen wearing a yellow tank top, blue jeans and white tennis shoes.
No information has been released about the relationship between Rene and others in the home. Investigators say her criminal history includes drug and trespassing charges, but tell FOX 13 that does not impact search efforts.
