Tampa's historic Jackson house has a new owner, and it's shock jock Bubba the Love Sponge.
The radio host said he finalized the purchase Wednesday morning. The home was built in 1903.
During segregation, it was one of the few places where African Americans could find lodging. Some of the biggest names in music stayed there, including Cab Calloway, Duke Ellington and James Brown.
In the last few years, the house has come close to being demolished several times. It needs more than $1 million in repairs.
Bubba said he intends to do rehab and restoration work, which will be scheduled for a later date.
