After 30 years of service, St. Petersburg Police Chief Chuck Harmon will turn in his badge today.
Harmon is retiring to spend more time with his family. He made the decision back in September when he said he couldn't give his wife a good excuse for missing a family wedding.
He has led the department since 2001 and started as an officer with the department back in 1982. He is St. Petersburg's longest serving police chief.
The city is conducting a nation-wide search to find his replacement.
