One of the Bay area's biggest road projects is finally opening.
A near three-year construction project has finished, allowing drivers onto the new I-4 connector in Tampa.
The connector links the interstate with the Lee Roy Selmon Expressway in both directions and goes right over Ybor City.
The Florida Department of Transportation originally planned to have all lanes open by Friday but rainy weather delayed things.
Rush hour traffic on Monday will be the first to grace the new connector. The main goal for the stretch is to ease Port of Tampa truck traffic through Ybor.
There will also be a new all-electronic toll collection system.
