A electrical substation in Hillsborough County caught fire Thursday night, authorities reported.
The substation is near Highway 60 and Adamo Drive.
Hillsborough County Fire Rescue tweeted a picture of flames shooting into the air. They say the fire is being fueled by mineral oils in the substation that are used to cool voltage going through the transformers.
Around 1,000 people were reportedly without power.
Tampa Electric has been called to the scene, and they shut the station down while they wait for the fire to burn itself out. That could take up to eight hours, Hillsborough Fire Rescue said.
