The dazzle, drinks and dancing! New Year's Eve is one of the most anticipated parties of the year!
"We will not run out of alcohol this year," ensured Brooke Palmer, marketing director for the Rooftop Eve Party in Hyde Park Village.
The cool white tent is lined with chandeliers and colorful decor, but the preparations are hard work, especially with the rain.
"We'll have fans and vacuums and probably everything that Home Depot has to make sure we're ready for our guests when they arrive Tuesday night," she said.
Places like Jackson's Bistro get pretty packed up on New Year's Eve. It's too late to ring in the new year with the sharks. The Florida Aquarium's Aqua Eve is sold out. The Starlite Cruise yacht party might float your boat. If you prefer a beach bar, Hulk Hogan encourages you to check out his Hogan's Beach Masquerade party.
For more kid friendly options, the Outback Bowl parade in Ybor City is a great way to spend the day. Fireworks shows from Channelside to First Night in downtown St. Pete are also great options. If you really want to ring in the new year with a bang, check out Circles Waterfront in Apollo Beach.
"We're shooting off $27,500 worth of fireworks out in front of our construction barge in Bal Harbor, which will make it the largest fireworks show in the state of Florida this year," said Circles owner Vic Granowicz.
No need to dress up for this casual, free event. It's tiki bar style with a breathtaking waterfront view which is exactly what many Floridians crave for New Year's Eve.
"We're planning for a full house which will probably be about a thousand to twelve hundred people," he said.
Those big crowds can be daunting.
"I think it's a challenge for any New Year's, whether you're a hotel, a party like what we're doing on the roof, a restaurant. It's just a night where everybody turns out. It's busy," Palmer exclaimed.
If you're looking to try your luck, the Seminole Hard Rock Casino hosts a late night after party that lasts until 6:00 a.m.
So here's a toast to making it a safe, fun and memorable way to welcome 2014.
