Officials in Williamson County have charged Gary Thomas Ewald after they say he poisoned several of his neighbor's dogs.
Authorities received several reports from Ewald's neighbors, who reside in the 8400 block of Fern Bluff Ave., saying their dogs had been poisoned. One neighbor reported her three dogs were sick and vomited for three days. She also told authorities that Ewald verbally threatened to poison her dogs.
Another neighbor reported finding his dogs convulsing and shivering on separate occasions. Each incident the dogs were rushed to the emergency vet clinic. The dogs survived, however the toxic substance could not be detected at the time.
The homeowner later installed security video that captured Ewald pouring a substance in his yard that appeared to be making the dogs sick.
During an interview, Ewald admitted to threatening his neighbor's dogs because they would not stop barking. He also told authorities that the liquid substance he poured into his neighbor's yard was the remains from cleaning his BBQ pit, not poison.
Ewald has been charged with cruelty to nonlivestock animals.
