Someone has stepped forward with a $5,000 reward in hopes that detectives will solve a 45-year-old cold case.
On Christmas Eve in 1968, Nick and Demetra Jeatran of Clearwater were beaten to death during a burglary near Drew Street.
Demetra was 74. Nick was 82.
The killer's identity has remained a mystery all these years, and the case is one of the oldest unsolved homicides in the area.
Now, on the same week, someone has anonymously offered up the reward.
The city did not say who came forward with the money – only that they hope it leads to more information on the couple's killer.
Crime Stoppers has also offered a $1,000 on top of that.
If you have any information to offer, contact the Clearwater Police Department.
