BRANDON (FOX 13) -

A fire is out at the JCPenny store in Westfield Mall in Brandon.

It all started around 11:30 Saturday night.

Heavy smoke filled the two-story department store.

Several employees were inside when it all started.

They got out safely and called 911.

Tampa fire rescue's ventilation unit was called in to help fan it all out.

It took them about three and a half hours to clear the 148,000 square foot building.

The cause appears to be electrical.

Thankfully, no one was hurt.

Because of heavy smoke and water damage, the store will be closed until further notice.

The rest of the mall was *not affected and *will be open.
