You can't put it off any longer. It's time to get those packages in the mail.
Today is expected to be the busiest shipping day of the year for UPS. The company describes the day as organized chaos.
Nearly 34 million packages will be picked up worldwide – double the normal volume.
Nearly 20,000 UPS employees are working around the clock to make sure your packages are delivered just in time for Christmas.
There's a reason for the holiday rush. The season is shorter than usual, thanks to a later Thanksgiving.
Of those 34 million packages, nearly 29 million of them will be delivered in the next two days, officials believe. The numbers are staggering, and the company claims they'll deliver about 300 packages per second.
Here are some dates you need to remember:
UPS will ship right through Dec. 23. You can overnight a package to get it there the next day. The same goes for FedEx.
For the Post Office, the deadline to ship first class mail is Friday.
The deadline for priority mail is Dec. 21. To ship overnight or two-day deliver, the deadline is Dec. 23.
