A Sarasota shelter has a big problem on its hands: a 35-pound cat.
"Tiger" was relinquished by his elderly owner, who had to move into an assisted living facility.
Vets say the 8-year-old cat is so big, he can only walk a few steps before has to stop and rest.
Other than that, they say he is actually in pretty good health.
Tiger is now on a special weight-loss diet. Vets expect him to lose around one pound per month until he is at a healthy weight. (Most domestic cats should weigh between 8 and 10 pounds.)
Tiger is available for adoption. You can see video of him here: http://youtu.be/DlYRUS1syNw
