TAMPA (FOX 13) -

Deputies say no charges have been filed after a Monday night crash between a bicyclist and a pickup truck.

It was around 8:30 p.m., deputies say, when Carmen Pando was riding a mountain bike southbound on the sidewalk along the east side of Sheldon Road, just south of Waters Avenue. The bike did not have a headlight, according to investigators.

A Hillsborough County Public Utilities employee, driving a Ford F350 pickup truck, was stopped while waiting to leave the parking lot of the Chevron gas station. As he began pulling onto Sheldon Road, Pando hit the passenger side of the truck and was critically injured.

Paramedics responded, but Pando was pronounced dead at the hospital a short time later.

Detectives interviewed the driver, identified as Michael Rueben Weaver, and determined he was not under the influence of any drugs or alcohol.

Deputies say no charges have been filed, pending further investigation.
