While Randy Johnson was turning himself in to deputies, a sense of disbelief surrounded Round Tree Drive in Holiday.
"She was a beautiful young woman. Very loving mother. Very loving girlfriend," said Nancy Asencio.
Ascencio lives across the street and remembers Tiffany Currier.
"She was very kind. Very kind," she said.
Pasco County deputies said Currier and Johnson spent the week at his mother's house.
"It was just coming over cooking for her boyfriend, spending time with him. There were no arguments of any kind. I would have heard it," Asencio insisted.
The two dated for over a year.
"Randy was Randy. He was as loving as he could be," Asencio continued.
Deputies said when Johnson's mom came home, she found a disturbing note taped to a door.
"He asked that his mother not go in the home, that she wait for law enforcement to go in and for her to take care of his babies," said Detective Chris Meizo.
She called deputies and they found Currier's body wrapped in bedding and a plastic tarp. Johnson showed up Sunday morning at the Land O'Lakes jail.
"He actually drove to the sheriff's office in the victim's vehicle, where he met a deputy that was just working outside and walked up to him and informed him, 'I did a terrible thing,'" said Detective Meizo.
Hours before her death, deputies said the couple spent Friday night at two local bars. But Johnson has not said why he murdered Currier.
"He said he couldn't live with the fact that he loved his girlfriend and he couldn't live with what had occurred," he said.
Deputies said Tiffany had an earlier charge of domestic violence against Johnson this year in Pinellas County. Johnson even had a restraining order against her at one time.
Deputies said they continue to investigate how Johnson murdered Currier. They said an electric cord was used as a weapon.
