COVINGTON, Ga. -

He may only be 5, but this Covington Police officer made the biggest "arrest" of his young life on Saturday.

A spokesperson for the Covington Police Department say Officer Morgan Steward "arrested" the "Christmas Bandit" as he tried to make off with the town's "Christmas cheer" and even read him his rights. Saturday's "arrest" happened in the city square in front of the old courthouse.

They say Steward suffers from spinal muscular atrophy and is confined to a wheelchair. He was made an honorary officer with the department this week.
