Car Collision In Wilmington Leaves One Person Dead

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - One person was killed and four others were injured in a two car collision early today in Wilmington, a Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman said.

 LAFD spokeswoman Katherine Main said a 17-year-old female, a passenger in one of the vehicles, died At 1:40 a.m. as a result of injuries sustained at the intersection of East Anaheim Street and the 700 block of North Aviation Boulevard.

 Three other passengers from the same vehicle, two females aged 17 and 16, and a 17-year-old male were transported to a hospital in fair condition, Main said.

It was not known who was driving the car, she said.

The second vehicle was overturned at the scene, Main said. Its driver, a 62-year-old woman, was extricated by fire personnel and hospitalized in serious condition.
