ST. PETERSBURG (FOX 13) -

St. Petersburg police have charged two teenagers in connection with a string of burglaries – thanks to mom and dad.

After seeing their son on TV, police say the parents of one of the suspects turned him in. Two 16-year-olds are accused of breaking into several vehicles in the upscale Yacht Club Estates neighborhood.

The burglaries took place in the early morning hours of Nov. 30. The one on video was just a string of auto burglaries committed in the neighborhood that night, police said.

FOX 13 is not naming the suspects because they are minors. One lives in St. Petersburg, the other in Seminole.

They are charged with nine counts of auto burglary.

After one of the boys was turned in by his parents, he identified the other suspect, police said. They then turned themselves into police.
