In the upscale Yacht Club Estates neighborhood, you'll find a lot of beautiful homes, and right now, you'll also find a lot of fired up neighbors, like Mike Niklasch.
There's home surveillance video of two teens breaking into a car around 4 a.m. Saturday. The two punks hit a total of eight cars in the neighborhood. They either broke into them or if they couldn't get in, keyed them up.
Niklasch is thankful his cars were unharmed.
"Pretty stupid kids. There's lights on and cameras rolling and they're breaking into cars," he said.
According to police, all of the cars that were broken into were left unlocked. The suspects took loose money and personal items.
"Any neighborhood can be targeted in this type of crime, so we encourage people to keep doors locked and take their valuables," said Mike Puetz with the St. Petersburg Police Department.
At this point, police hope someone recognizes one or both of the teens in the video.
They're facing several counts of auto burglary and criminal mischief, not to mention a neighborhood full of unhappy homeowners.
"It is a beautifl neighborhood, and people come in and do stuff like that you feel violated," Niklasch said.
