In this year's NFL draft, Florida State ranked number one, sending more players than any other school in the nation to the pros.
Nearly a dozen players heard their names called on draft day, a new school record. The 'Noles also have an additional five players that were signed as free agents.
So it was easy to think this would be a reloading year for FSU head coach Jimbo Fisher in Tallahassee, not the case. The Seminoles are number one, now for a different reason.
FSU is the talk of college football, undefeated at 12-0. They're just a win away from playing for the national title and are a lock to beat Duke Saturday in the ACC title game, favored by 29-points in Las Vegas.
It's been 13 years since FSU last played for the crowning title and there are three Buccaneers that will be cheering them on, including the newest Bucs running back Lonnie Pryor, who played for FSU last season.
"They're doing a phenomenal job right now. I didn't see it coming out this year," said Pryor. "They are doing their thing. Jameis Winston is doing a phenomenal job. The whole team is. I'm excited for them, so I'll see them in Pasadena."
So is Pryor making an early predication? Are the 'Noles a national championship team in his eyes?
"Yes sir," said Pryor. "Hopefully they can continue. They have Duke left. They're not going to take them lightly. Hopefully they can continue doing what they are doing."
Really? Concerned about Duke?
"I can't say that," said Pryor, laughing. "I'm not there anymore. The question is, are they worried about Duke? Like I said, never take any game for granted, so they still have to play Saturday."
Bucs linebacker Dekoda Watson, who played for FSU from 2006-2009, hasn't a concern in the world when it comes to the Seminoles winning.
"No, not at all," said Watson, brimming with confidence. "Told you I'm not going to talk junk to any team. There is no need. The W's speak for themselves."
Unless there is a cataclysmic upset in the conference championship games, the national title game will pit two undefeateds against each other, Florida State against Ohio State.
