TAMPA (FOX 13) -

A dog was pulled out of a burning home Monday evening in the 3300 block of North 22nd Street.

Tampa Fire Rescue says the person in the home managed to escape. But his tiny dog hid in fear.

Firefighters went into the home, found the pup, and pulled him to safety.

The homeowner and the dog -- Vinnie -- are expected to be OK.

Investigators believe the blaze was caused, at least in part, by a furnace being placed too close to combustible materials in the living room.
