TAMPA (FOX 13) -

Members of the Tarpon Springs High School marching band returned home Friday night from the trip of a lifetime.

They got to perform in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade.

It was a trip into the national spotlight that was more than a year in the making.

Band members trickled in to Tampa International Airport in different flights.

The first came back around 9 p.m.

The students were excited to see parents and friend again, especially after experiencing snow and cold some of them had never seen.

"It's amazing…to see all the people who support us, you know you're loved and everyone is proud of you, and all that hard work for that long finally paid off," said Nichole Wall.

The school had to raise $350,000 to make the trip.
